Sorry but it looks like it's up for sale |

Really sorry guys but it looks like I'm going to be leaving you all
With the expanding family, I really need my wife to use the D3 on a regular basis and no matter what I have tried to do she still doesn't like driving it and doesn't feel safe going around corners so it looks like we're going back to XC90's with a SE Sport - I know, I know it's not like a D3 but she loves them and they are very family friendly.
I'm not going to put a price that I'm looking for on the car as it will attract all kinds of comments like - you can get a new one cheap etc etc. Well I have done some research and the very best price that you can get this car new at is £40830.46. It has every extra and is the 2007 model, it has an active diff, TV, tinted windows, factory tow pack, TPMS, 4500 miles Zermatt with Ebony.
I would be keen to do a P/Ex deal with a older car to keep for a spell as the XC90 Sports take a while to come.
Feel free to get in touch if you're interested.

the figures don't stack up but I have done the sums!
Walked the course 2 weeks ago. Was supposed to be driven in a D1 with a few tricks but ended up driving a bit and walking a bit. It is very very challenging, if you want to try it then no worries Saturday 10th Feb would work well for me.

went to have a drive in the XC90 Sport today. Excellent car but comments from she who hates the D3 were as follows
* It doesn't have as much room as the Disco
* It isn't as easy to see the front
* It's noisy
* There's no TV
* I feel low down
Maybe we should re-think
My D3 might very well be staying where it is

Friend of a friend had a brand new "06 XC with all the bells & whistles. He has handed it back to Volvo due to the amount of mechanical failures. He purchased an "06 TDV6 HSE (ex L/R management 6k miles £31k ) the other week.
Found this rather amusing having just read this thread.

I did 100k in my last XC90 and it was perfect. I am on my thrid D3 in 9 months due to technical problems so I can't say that D3 is more reliable it's just that after having a D3 the XC90 seems very car like and doesn't represent good value compared with the Discovery.

I looked at the XC90, but I really just couldn't justify the cost for not much more than a bigger car.
Whereas with the D3, it was so much easier and very clear to see what you're getting for your money.
But you still have to be hard pressed to make that choice again after your D3 Problems, so can understand your view.
But what else will compare to a D3....? Not much around that I could find just before I ordered.
I'm sure the XC90 and X5 are excellent cars and many owners will applaud them, but is a 'car' all you want....? Bodsys Brake Bible

To my mind it comes down to what you want to use it for. If you want to go offroad with confidence then there is no choice. If you want a big estate car and won't go off road then the X5 and XC90 might make more sense. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
