OK....yes I have driven it....It feels "sharper".......but not a revelation.
......but not totally different...the twin turbo is only the Jab implementation of the engine that LR should have had from day one....more progressive...the ECO spec is written it cant be felt
I'm more concerned that "marketing are telling me what I need & want rather than asking me
if the engine had been a V8...then OK D4
& I want the elegant durability in the D3......not a Defender........& not some painted up extravagance that some boy racer has dreamed up to compete with cars that dont compete
......just painting whats "already there" doesn't make a D3 a D4
the HSE of three years ago represented the epitome of the D3....all the trimmings in a durable package...over the last three years "its been value engineered" BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Is it an all new engine or the same one bored out with new breathing and fuel delivery? And what have they done to the suspension? Are they different air spring units?

There was a reason why they went with the single turbo in the D3, (Which I can’t remember)
In the early stages of development, the D3 was rumoured to have dual turbo’s, but they went with the variable vane single turbo. Do the twin turbos have variable vanes?
My issue with the D4 will be the painted plastic, the D3 came out in black plastic trim on every surface which was likely to get scratched, now these are all painted.
And my other issues is, not how good the 3.0 lt TDV6, but why it is not a TDV8.
( Does it have a full size spare wheel? and will it take a 2nd battery in the engine compartment?) Trust me, what could go wrong?
