sorry but another fuel burner heater question / fault

Hi All

My disco 4 is 4 years old in march and i have the aux heater fitted with the key fob / timer settings, it has worked fine up untill about 2 months ago and now it sometimes fails to light up / heat the car in the mornings i have tried it both with the fob and by setting a timer on the dash panel

i have a diagnosticsd machine at work which we keep using to reset the heater then it works fine for a while then it locks out, when it locks out the timer display on the centre console is not lit up and i am unable to select it and the key fob does not work either

there are codes present but i dont have them to hand there is normally 3 in there something like, flame interuption etc etc all codes are intermitant and will erase for a period

is there any service items it may need, do you have to replace the glow plug??? what else needs doing to it from a maintenance point of view?????

cheers shawn

It probably just needs a good prime a couple of times to get it going, its sounds like its just crudded up inside, you need a tool that can prime the system and run it up.

Flack Thumbs Up

Shawn I had the same issue last year took mine off and stripped it down to find that the chamber was knackered Shocked
Found a complete Webasto on the bay which was cheaper than a chamber replacement !
But hopefully yours is just coked up !!
It's not a hard job to take it to bits and have a look Thumbs Up

Edit : I found that there was a small burning bowl inside the chamber that was meant to be spot welded to the chamber but in my case had become detached so was not working Crying or Very sad
