Software upgrade
This is my first post so I hope someonea can offer advice. I have an 06MY HSE which had a problem with the lazy mirrior function. From reading threads on here, back to the stealers, and they confirmed they have downloaded new software. Question will this overwrite the engine management as I have had the car chipped. Seems a bit sluggish after being in. Presumably the software they downloaded does not just deal with the mirrors.
I lost my 'chip' when the enhancement programme was done. Nearly killed myself on the way home from the dealers by overtaking in a car that didn't perform the way it had previously.......

There is a software download and a firmware upgrade - it's probable that the dealer took the opportunity to upgrade all the modules in your vehicle as a courtesy, if you have a remap it's generally not a problem asking the dealers not to update the engine control unit - unless you have an engine or cruise control problem of course!

Most reputable ECU re-mappers will redo the ECU free of charge for as long as you own the vehicle.
From what I understand anyway

I lost my map after a software upgrade but it was kindly put back FOC

my mirrors were only sorted with a drivers seat module replacement. theres a TSB somewhere on it.Duncan

Yes, I saw the post regarding the mirrors, and told the stelaers about it, bu they chose the software route. I will see how it goes

I have had problems with my passenger side mirror not returning after reverse.
First service (April 2007) had the softwere mod done ...no better .They told me they would get a module if it diddnt cure it
Second service (September 2007) This time they said there was a TSB about a spacer ???
I question why i was told i needed a module and now there saying a spacer .
Anyway spacer was fitted and up to now ( only a few weeks ) it has been 99% ok .
I can live with it
I think a lot of the problem is if you put it reverse , then quickly back into 1st ..it dosent have time to react.G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
