Snorkle pictures
Sorry if this has been asked before but i cant find any info on the forum doing a search.
Im wondering what parts come with a snorke and does it remove this part from the original car ?
Located here
We were taking an engine out of a D3 today and noticed the holes in the rubber part of the original air intake, i didnt relise that original system was so bad untill i seen this.
And it was leaking and even possibile letting water into the airbox

I put a "how to fit a snorkel" post up along with a picture of that elbow but I cant find the pictures or the post Or did I dream it
Anyway the Snorkel er Raised Air Intake is just the black plastic chimney that is bolted to the outside of the car. Apparently those holes are to stop resonance Have you seen how crap the air pipe connection top right of the rad In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Yes the connection is crap , this has me thinking that this is the cause of the engine problems, its sucked a small ammount of water in, partly hydraulic locked, shortend a con rod and now does not compress on this piston correctly causing a misfire at idle.

Caver, have you put your snorkel to the test after all the discussion of that thread? The removal time and tidiness of it all is first class, how does it cope off road though?2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

Works fine off road no issues except paint scrapes. But haven't tested it in deep water. Creeks have been at normal level when I have gone through.
So the snorkel is working ( I haven't needed it since I made it )“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I bought the LR 'raised air intake' before realising it was NOT a snorkel So I wrapped up the cloth covered tube and put silastic in the holes and joints. No problems with water crossings as seen my avatar 2013 D4, E-diff, Vision pack
