Snail Mount Tightness
Got my new aerial mount from 4x4cb today, unfortunatly they are shut weekends so I can't ask the question...
I managed to brake my old mag mount bolt by me being over overzealous and tightening till I cross threaded the bolt!
So want to be abit more careful this time! But at the same time I don't fancy it coming off the car at 70mph!
Do you just do this ones up with your hands, or should I use 2 spanners and turn them until I feel substainstual resistance?

How about using some lock nut and then turn them until you feel modest resistance I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Hi SJR, would a product like thread lock, cause any problems with the grounding?
I just did it up with spanners, did take quite allot of turning, but then I felt the resistance, went a touch more and stopped.
Just hope the plastic washer at the top stands up to the pressure

Just found this which may help
Quote:
Loctite® 290 Threadlock Adhesive recommended for locking preassembled fastners, e.g. instrumentation screws, electrical connectors and set screws.
If thats wrong, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.
