Smelly new clutch

Had a new clutch at 34K as the original was shot. It was apparently replaced with the newer, uprated one but after 1K miles, it still smells of clutch in the cabin.

I've given it time to 'bed in' or whatever new clutches do, but should it still be smelling from the old clutch or could the new one problematic as well? -doesn't seem to be slipping I must add & not done any towing etc Richard
