The CTEK 5 arrived last week and I fully charged the old battery. No change. I have also ordered the tow electrics adapter as that is definitely more convenient than the traditional method.
I have also fitted the new Halfords battery and reset the BMS for the primary battery. TPMS again didn't work at first, but it came back to life much quicker than before. Sadly the stop/start still isn't working and nor is the smart key for either the doors or the ignition.
I've hooked up the CTEK in the vague hope that the new battery was low on charge.
I've also got the car booked in at the dealers for an investigation. I'm glad I have a full warranty direct policy with unlimited hourly rates and all the modules. I did set the excess at £250, so a bit of me is hoping it is really expensive.... and that it is covered! MY16 D4 Graphite in Loire Blue

Thanks for keeping us posted. Good luck with the investigation. Please keep us updated.
Presume WD have approved investigative work in advance?
Cheers Gary

Progress? Possibly, but of the wrong sort. The new battery is fully charged, and now the stop/start is working again. Yay. Also, no more issues from the TPMS.
Sadly, the smart keys are still not being found.
Does the smaller battery have a role in the smart keys? I have also charged the smaller battery, but may be it is worth replacing that one too? MY16 D4 Graphite in Loire Blue

Hi Peteyd
Well things are moving forward at least, but as you say, your main concern is still not sorted. I don’t believe the small battery plays a roll in smart key being found but others more knowledgeable than me will advise.
Just a quick check. Have you tried changing the batteries for good quality replacements in your key fobs as suggested? There was also the issue of a phone dock causing these type of issues. Have you eliminated that?
Cheers Gary

Can’t remember if you’ve done it, but there was a report of the smart key not found issue on here earlier today. They did a reset on the car , waited 10 mins and now working again. Might be worth a try. Link below.

Good luck

Hi Gary
Many thanks for pointing this out, I hadn't checked the forum today so would've probably missed this.
I did a reset before but I have since replaced the main battery, so I will try again. I'm just not sure what the reset process is on a Disco with a main battery and a stop/start aux battery. Will see if there are any posts on that later.
Thanks agin. MY16 D4 Graphite in Loire Blue

Tried the hard reset, no joy. Thanks for the ideas though. I forgot to reply to say that we don't have any wireless charging type devices in the car. We have a USB adapter plugged in to the 12v socket, but have unplugged that (just in case) and no improvement. MY16 D4 Graphite in Loire Blue

Hi peteyd
Thanks for the updates. Its good to know whats happening for people to make the best use of the forum in future.
I have re-read your first post in which you say you changed the batteries in your keys. I missed that before. I just have a couple of sanity checks regarding this. Did you change these for known good quality batteries and are they the right way around with the protective plastic peeled off?
Good luck, and keep us informed.
Cheers Gary

I get a warning message on the dash when the fob battery is getting ready to be changed, If the remote lock/unlock is working, all windows closed is working, test by leaving window open and close with remote, if no warning on the dash your batteries are ok. I also find the SS is a great indicator of battery condition, if the SS does not work with no warning the main battery is low- needs a charge, if the SS stops working and a fault light appears the small auxiliary battery is low on charge or needs replacing.
It normally takes a few miles for the tyre pressure system to reset itself and start working. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

If they don't check your car insurance as some cover lost keys etc . It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Sorry to hear this peteyd. Thanks for updating the thread on this. Please let us know what WD say. I read on here somewhere, someone paid over £1k for similar work.
Cheers Gary

Excellent news for you and all those with WD policies. Thanks for the update.
I presume you have all the modules of cover on your policy ( ticked all the boxes?)
Cheers Gary

I think I did tick all the boxes. The main aim of the WD policy was to protect against a major issue like the crank, transmission or suspension failure, and I've still paid way more in premium than I've got back, but peace of mind is valuable too!
It looks like you can't buy a WD policy any more, at least not from them directly. I've another 18 months to go on my policy so I hope a new product or supplier will be available by then. MY16 D4 Graphite in Loire Blue
