Slow throttle response in neutral

Yesterday, the disco started feeling a bit sluggish. I had to floor it to get it going. There was a few seconds delay from flooring it to any power kicking in. This morning, I can hardly get OT off the drive. There is a really slow response to the throttle even in neutral. I floor it and the revs very slowly increase. There are no errors or lights on the dash. No excess smoke either.

Any ideas?

Mine did that...

But with an "engine fault" warning light say ten miles before into get you home mode...
MAF sensor....
This was swapped out & EGR's blanked at same time...
Get you home mode is maybe 1000 revs, low gears with very little power...
 BREXIT - done properly.

Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault

took it to my mechanic this morning. Noticed a lot of smoke on start up and on the 2 miles journey, it went into limp home mode. He didn't have much time to look at it today on short notice, but plugged it in and there were no faults. I'm suspecting (hoping) it's split hoses.

Have the same problem now and then...
When going into 1st gear ... no power / throttle reaction whilst pushing it further down...in driving away mode...
Otherwise no problems whilst driving with load or normal... no smoke

Could this be the MAP sensor that is not cleaned enough? MAF sensor seems to be very clean ...
