So I've taken a look & can't see any obvious split in the usual places as seen on may of the images on the forum. I don't get black smoke or any EML just slow pick up.

Is it possible for a very small leak in the hose to cause poor performance but none of the other symptoms?

I'll get a hose & replace it anyway but me thinks the problem could be elsewhere?

A common problem on a Discovery 2 was for the turbo hoses to collapse inside. When the turbo was sucking the hose formed a bubble on the inside and blocked off the flow. I didnt experiance this for sure on mine but when I changed to silicone hoses the car really got its edge back.
Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch 😂

So I dropped the top hose out before tea & whilst it look to be original there are no obvious signs of cracks, splits, partial collapse or internal delamination.

I also took the time to clean the MAP sensor which interestingly since the last EGR change has a much drier looking build up on it than previously when it was black sticky gunk.

I also checked the pipe across the radiator from the MAF to the rubber socket to ensure this was seated correctly.

Still sluggish to pick up rev's below 1500RPM, no smoke on acceleration.

Is there anything I can prod & poke with the IID tool to look for root causes?

Any help to the next stop on this journey of exploration would be welcome

Cheers Nick Thumbs Up
