Sloshing noise under the car...
Posted in technical as to me it is a tech question...
Just been out for a tab and (being paranoid) just pulled the drivers door handle to double check the car is all locked up for the night... as ya do in rural Shropshire.
Noticed a sloshing sound coming from under the car - not at back where the fuel tank is - but under the middle of the car.
mmm I thought and swayed the car a bit and yep, under the car is a sloshing liquid sound.
Anyone got an idea as to what this is ? Anyone else got this ?
Been dry all day and have not waded across the River Severn today so not water in the chassis

Simon,
How full is yer tank? It actually extends well down the driver's side of the car, and if it as not full and you were quite strong, I think a bit of a tug on the door handle could make the diesel slosh about a bit.
The silence in Somerset is pretty deafening too............

mmm... Winger I knew you'd have the answer
Yeah tank is full and heard a slight sloshing pulling the handle then much louder pushing the car... and yes, very strong Shropshire lad in very quiet (for now until the pubs empty) rural surroundings.
So. Interesting that the tank extends under the car like that. Assumed it was like others and had a tank confined to the back of the car.
So what shape is it exactly ?

So I will instantly see the tank under the car ? All the stuff under there is more or less non de-script to me... some bits obvious of course... others ??? Do you have a piccy in your vast library of D3 tech info that shows the tank ?

Simon, even you couldn't miss it. It is kind of obvious! Lie underneath and get the missus to yank your handle, and see what liquid sounds result.

mmm that sounds rather enjoyable
just surprised it extends under my seat and is not contained at the back. Mind you 82 litres is a lot of liquid to contain so I guess you need some kind on tank extension to really get the best liquid release into the engine eh ?
