Sloppy ride and tyre wear.

I've been feeling recently that the rear end on my disco has been loose/sloppy as if a tyre was soft. I've just come back from a 1000 mile trip and there is shocking wear on the inside edge of the n/s/r tyre.

I've checked as best I can and the wheel seems to sit slightly off vertical compared to the other side.

I've had a heavy lever at all the bushes I can get at and can't see any excessive movement although there is some movement, even slight knocking in the lower knuckle bush. When putting the wheel back on and tightening the wheel nuts (wheel still off the ground) the wheel does seem to have a little more lift than the other.

I'm going to order up new knuckle bushes but wonder if that alone is likely to be the problem.
