Not used them personally, but they won't protect. Just for aesthetics and a narrow step
For protection you need to look elsewhere, for ones that cover the whole cill

They are not really sliders as such, more a cosmetic step

Thanks - want something that offers a bit of protection, just liked the idea of a small step, but suppose can always add grip tape.
Any ideas on a better slider offering protection?
Thought it was too good to be true at this price Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

I share the reservations above. A mate's D3 drove onto a verge in front of me to give a tractor some room whilst wearing these. Even at less than walking pace one side caught the verge and partially sheered-off, taking a bite out of a door as it went.

Not that my car or sliders look anything like that at the moment.

Prospeed do some rock and tree sliders and they are really well made and as such are quite expensive but I can't see them on Prospeed's website at the moment. I think I saw a message from them on Facebook that they were bringing a new design out soon. I have just rock sliders on my D4 (well I will when I get them back from Paul) which don't have the step part, I prefer these as they are a bit less obtrusive. My rock sliders came from Ray (RLD) Cheers Ian

To echo all the comments above,I have the ones you're looking at Tom,and have to take them off any time I go off-road....they are just steps to aid entry and exit from the car (for my kids) and are hollow tubes.
Although well made and sturdy, they offer little protection for anything other than car parks, and actually compromise ground clearance for off-roading,as they sit below cill level.
When the kids are a bit bigger, they will be replaced by true rock/tree sliders,as Im getting a bit sick of taking them off (I was going to leave them off this time, but the moaning has started already)"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Thanks - all - duly noted, will be looking to add some proper ones to my wish list as opposed to these.
I suppose it was wishful thinking that they would be any good as they are more than half the price of anything else .... get what you pay for just have to wait nowSill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

think those would have brackets that would catch when you slide...I got nice stainless ones from LR Centre...
Prospeed ones fitted. Unlike my prev set these cover the trim just behind the front wheel as well. Superb quality.
Ian, I've not forgotten! Hopefully off to get Anna's today & taking them to be line-x'd, will let you know when yours are off & ready.Paul.
