Hi all
Just a quick question - is there anything you'd like to see on the site? The photo gallery seems to be popular, glad I sorted that one out
A couple of things I've quickly thought off, let me know thoughts/comments :
- Web log - members post their DISCO3 experiences in their own online diary.
- D3 FAQ's - fairly obvious - loads of info about the D3 (specs, engines, systems, wheels etc). How-to's and tricks.
- Online shop for DISCO3.CO.UK 'stuff' - more stickers, T-shirts, fleeces etc etc
Anyway, let me know, want to keep my users happy
Martin

Martin,
They all sound great (get the shop going first, I need a new fleece )
Along with the Web log how about a section for members favourite/recommended green lanes and off road areas?
The site just gets better and better

The web-log (or Disco Diary if you need an appropriate name) is a good idea, I like that one a lot.
I also think the Green lane link would be good, but you would have to make sure that everybody takes responsibility to confirm the status and condition of the lane before driving, and I strongly urge you to promote the tread lightly approach, and link to GLASS etc, as this is a hot potato issue at the moment, especially after the Channel 5, 5th Gear outrage with the Disco 3 which did a lot of damage to 4x4 campaigns and argumemts.

Agreed. We need to ensure we are seen to be as responsible as we can.
And yes... the 5th Gear report was horrifying ! I could not believe that they drove that hard down the green lane and in the same breath said this was a green lane shared by walkers etc.
Also felt the pain of the DISCO3 as it bounced around the lane. Mind you I would love to hear if the car was damaged at all as it appeared to be built like a tank.
Was a great review and really showed the car doing its stuff. But in really lousy and irresponsible style.

Martin, the site is excellent, well done and a shop or exchange of goodies would be good. Still like the idea of gathering statistics though, gives more power to the elbow than the notes we are all making.

Martin - you are doing a wonderful job, and it is great to see a site that is actually focused on UK Disco 3 owners & their expierences/problems, without us being side-tracked by the completely different issues & expectations of owners in the USA which seems to be where the focus of a certain "other" forum is !!!
You did a great job with the Disco3.co.uk , stickers & I for one think you should give it a try as far as an on-line shop is concerned. Difficulty may be sourcing goods with the right margins - alternative woudl be to do a deal with an existing on-line supplier for a rebranded link to their site with a % for you!! I'm sure most of us regular UK contributors would not begrudge you some profit - I for one think you deserve to get a return for all the hard work put into the site.

Tell you what I personally would find useful, but don't know if phpBB allows it, and that would be to have an "archive", like several other BBs do. Although called an archive, these tend to actually be graphic-free mirrors of the main BB, which makes it a bit easier for those of us browsing at work when we should be doing something else, as the front-on shot of a D3 at the top of every page is a bit of a giveaway!

Good idea 8)
I don't know if phpBB supports it natively, but I'll certainly look into some options - at the least I can set up a cut down template to remove the graphics

Martin, i think a 'How To' section would be an good idea, would save time, going through each message to find info required. ie How to: fit Roof rails, How to: get your FBH to work~ ignore the book.
I found the How To section @ Disco2.com very useful, also a section with recall details so we know what should/could be done by dealer, having said that we will probably know before the Dealer does.
Great Site

What about having an international forum where D3 owners would post about local issues? Not sure this is very important at the moment as the distribution of the D3 started a bit later in Continental Europe but this might become interesting for some members.
Btw this site is great and has been very useful to me so far.
Thank you Discovery TDV6 HSE 01/2005

Hi Victor
How does a European region specific forum sound?
As well as Australian and the (moved) US/LR3 one

Martin, familyman has already posted a thread 'tip of the week', that would make a good section don't you think maybe it could be combined with a how to section. 2004 Discovery 3 - gone
2006 Discovery 3 - gone
2008 Discovery 3 GS - gone
2011 Freelander LE Special Edition - gone
2007 Discovery 3 XS - gone
2012 Discovery 4 GS - gone
