In an effort to cure the many problems we've all been experiencing recently, DISCO3.CO.UK will be moving sometime next week.
I'm currently transferring the data to the new server, and once that's done, I'll choose a changeover day (on which the site won't be available, to stop loss of posts) when the swap to the new server will take place.
Hope this is ok with everyone and I'll keep you up to date with plans.

Martin,
Good luck, well done and we are all behind you on this !
Access problems have been a pain but the site is worth it.
Cheers,

Martin, your efforts are brilliant and like Simon we are behind you. If there is anything I can do, let me know, although with my compouer prowess, that should be a big fat zero.
On a good point, because the site is so good, it gives me a day off and the digits a rest.

Martin, one question springs to mind, how are you funding this? Even the most basic hosting deal is not free.
I'm sure the regulars would happily pay a subscription or make donations to help you out. We all benefit from this site, don't be afraid to ask for a little financial aid if it'll help.

Simon,
Here here and agree 100%...
Hell we would even agree to selling some sheep or even BN's boat to help out

The site will be moving TONIGHT, starting at 10pm BST.
As I've now had quite a few people badgering me, I will set up a site donation thing after the move. Every who has bought a sticker or two or is buying DISCO3 clothing helps the site out a bit, so thank you for that
Have to work out some kind of 'bonus' for donating - any ideas guys?

Martin,
The bonus as far as I see it for donating is that the site continues and also continues to grow !!

Should be back within 3 to 4 hours, I chose 10pm as it's not too late for me to do the work required in the background, and it hopefully minimises the disruption to users

Cool with me and allows me to do some work for three hours before coming back here and being all Land Roverly again
Will you email us to say its back on line or should we just check back in the wee hours ?
Sad I know...

Martin,
Just don't lose the posts, I appear to be winning at the moment and I don't want the Simons sneaking up on me.

Nothing will get lost at all, that's what I'm taking the time to do - basically 'pausing' the site on this server and copying the database over to the new server before it goes 'live'.
Fingers crossed it'll work!

Me 755
You 745
So I think I am still the chatty one... OK most of my posts recently have been of completely no use to anyone but my own morbid sense of humour

PS. Mile stones are my thing not the number of total posts... I say that of course as I KNOW you will ultimately overtake me... specially now you are arranging off-roading day outs !
A cunning plan I must say just to pip me to the winning post... but a bloody great one I must say too !!! Thanks again

I'll keep you quite on the course. It's the flippin sheep around the course that haunted me today
