Site Downtime 1000-1430GMT

First off, sorry to everyone for the site being unavailable for the last four and a half hours.

A serious power failure in the server data centre caused the DISCO3 server to go offline for approximately 2 hours, with the server powered by just before 1200 GMT. Unfortunately the shutdown was not graceful, and the forum database was damaged in the process.

Between 1200 and 1430 GMT the database was rebuilt, as you can appreciate with 768,000 posts to process this took some time!

All now seems to be OK but please report any issues you come across by replying here.

Thanks for your patience and apologies again.

The "last post" date for the "Spotted" sub forum (as seen on the forum index page) is corrupt/invalid/null. January 1st 1970....

When you click on DG's profile and ask it to return "all posts"* the number reported is a lot less than those on his site total. It's as if there's a bermuda triangle or hidden bit somewhere Confused

(* Granted, not many people have my deep-seated interest in Rich's burblings, but a stalker has to do what a stalker has to do Whistle )
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

posts in a "moderator" area versus public posts ? would be normal for a forum.

(why am I answering this when Rich can...? Thud )

Just Fookin Relentless Al Whistle Laughing

You are correct though of course because I am the member of a number of private forums created for specific groups of site users i.e Mods, closed events, expeditions or special interests etc. Nothing unusual about it ....in fact any member can request a specific group to be created by Martin.... hence the "Groups" icon between "Calender" and "Profile" Rolling Eyes

I'm sure this exists on most forums .....and like events in the big Triangle can be easily explained 8)

There are non public areas for various functions - mods area, event organisation, etc.
