Side Steps/Bars

Just thinking about fitting some side steps or bars to my D4 , mainly to offer some protection to doors when in car parks and occasionally to stand on when cleaning roof .
Any suggestions for a reasonable quality product , not to keen on shiny edging strips , would prefer all black if possible .
Already got LR mudflaps fitted if that is relevant to fitting .

TIA

I second shirefabrication.
Had mine on a few months now and still look brilliant. I've added sone thin grip tape for SWMBO and the sprogs

Very easy to fit.
You remove the old plastic sill. Remove plugs under and pull off.
You will probably have to tap the old plastic mounts into the car.
Screw bars on.
I used a car jack to hold the bars in place.
No drilling

Am I right in thinking these the side bars will offer protection from cars opening their doors on to yours (spec if you leave it parked in off road mode) , had last 2 cars damaged in car parks Sad

Up to a point they will but if the doors on the other car are profiled with an outward curve higher than the bars the doors will still get dings, as long as the other doors are straight your ok.

I would say yes. I tend to check my height against the door next to me when I'm out the car and tend to put it in off road mode. I would say that normal height is enough but I do like to make life difficult for the wife. Laughing
