Side Steps Catching On Door Trim

Self fitted some Land Rover side steps a few weeks ago and I have a problem that the lower driver door trim is catching on the front corner of the side step when closing.

I noticed it when fitting and pulled the side steps out away from the car as far as they would go which helped but am still getting the problem.

The door does close OK but the trim gets stuck temporarly and flicks off with bit a "thwlack" which is very annoying.

Any one know any tips or tricks how to stop this?

Others suffer from the same problem or is the side step/fitting at fault?

Usually it's due to being used as off road wings. If you get a couple people of stout proportion to jump up & down on them, it will straighten out

I've tried that one, may be I'm not quite stout enough

Did you ever get a fix for this problem? I'm currently having the same issue with the door trim catching the step as you close it.

I found this when fitting mine. Due to the fixing spaces not being 100% right and they needed some 'adjusting'.

Either expand the holes on the fixings or (or as others have said) 'bend' the outriggers down a bit.

I thought it was just that I bought cheap eBay ones opposed to LR ones.

It was a bit more hassle than the instructions said but a bit of adjustment will stop the rubber trim fouling.

We had exactly the same thing on ours. nothing a big drill bit couldnt sort out though!
