Only way I thought they would find out is by driving it, that it goes quicker than a normal.

I dont think I said they knew it had a remap but they did say they had some problems with programming them, which I ASSUME is something to do with the remap.
Although the car now drives 1000% better than it did when I took it in, it seems to have lost the 'punch' my BAS remap had, so am wondering what the hell to do now!
Emailed Pete at BAS and am hoping he can help.

As yours is a 55 plate, you could have blanked the EGR's for less than a ton.
Pete will be able to sort you out one way or another Mark.

Well remap went on nice and easily so a big releif there!
Now I need to decide how big an issue the list of problems are and which to address first!
Money permitting of course

Mine is doing just that "kicking in at 2000 rpm's... If I have the egr's blanked, will I see an improvement in the time it takes to kick in? Sooner...?

Hi, I've just had exactly the same problem. Couple of weeks ago,
towing 'van up to Derbyshire, sudden loss of low down power. Had to keep revs above 2400 to get any response.
Took car to Rogers of Bedford, they told me my 56 plate D3 has a Euro4 engine
So there'll be problems with engine mgt light post Egr blanking fix.
No fault codes stored either. Went ahead with blanking plate fix and car like new
Particularly pleased that there is no engine warning light on, perhaps my car is one
of last with previous emission system fitted. Anyway, who cares, it's working!

Hello I am new to the forum so please be gentle,
I need to find a mechanic near to Newcastle under Lyme (Staffordshire) to place my EGR blanking kit to my 06 TDV6 Disco. Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
William.

Robster wrote:Hi
I a REALLY hoping someone here can help me.
My car has suddenly developed a severe case of what I can only describe as turbo lag.
I put my foot down, count 1001, 1002, 1003 and then the car takes off!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was running on almost empty when it first started doing it and I thought it might be dirty fuel but all filled up and still doing it.
HELP PLEASE.
Robin
Mine does that took it to local guy salmons and they said all was ok its within parameters.( more like lets leave it till its out of warranty)
mine still does it, then they asked if i could give them outstanding in a survey, i advised em otherwise.
Still think its egr valves, all gears round about 1500 rpm flat as a witches tit, then 1850-2000 rpm takes off like a scalded cat, so at the monent i either get rammed up the by one car or i ram the car in front. not a pleasure to drive.

TFC spotted I had a BAS remap as soon as he plugged his diagnostics. Something to do with the increased fuel pressure? VIN: A175A328***
