Service offer from main dealer
Ive not long bought a 2015 D4 and the main dealer has offered me 2 services, 2 MOTs and 2 "health checks" for £499. The Dealer is Stratstone in Nottingham.
Has any body dealt with the service department here? Any good?
Ive always serviced my own vehicles and I know a lot of people say to use the local Indie as they will do a better job than a main dealer for less money but at £200 ish for each service it seems reasonable?
How can I be sure they do everything that needs doing? How can anybody be sure if they don't do it themselves?
My current thoughts are to let them do it and me do some preventative stuff along side it...Good bye untrusted p38

The Health Checks are usually offered FOC as they want to find work and keep you in the system. 2 MOTS are worth circa £100 max. So the 2 free services are, as you say, valued at approx £399 which isn't bad value and dependent on mileage related service types, could be be real saving. Probably worth checking to see if they define the type of service and what it includes oils filters etc , when I had a similar plan with Audi they defined it as one major and one oil service. Overall it still seems reasonable value and any warranty work needed at least you have some type of relationship with the dealer.

From the chat we had when I bought the car, he said it is the Land Rover Service, which I took to mean it is whatever Land Rover expects to be done at the time! It is not a Land rover offer though, it is a stratstone offer which must be purchased in the first month of ownership.Good bye untrusted p38

Careful, it'll be Stratstone's service for LRs, not one to JLR's spec. Parts will be "equivalent quality" which, for me, meant a fuel filter that was causing the car to shut down under load. Ask the question, is it genuine LR parts. And "health check" is a fishing trip. I won't darken their door again.

It was a while ago, good offer price for a service on my now dead D3. Had it done, then started getting the car going into limp home mode under moderate throttle increases. Turns out it was a POS "equivalent quality" fuel filter that was fitted that wasn't allowing enough fuel through quickly enough. F n dangerous when it happened on the M6 and a truck almost went into the back of me. Had it changed again at a better dealer for proper LR one and problem went instantly. Haven't been back to Stratstones since.

Do a search on Stratstones. Some peeps swear by them, some wouldn't give them the time of day.

I’ve nothing to add on the ability of Stratstones other than I can walk to the one near me but much prefer to drive forty miles to a different one, so many chances, so many ups.
As per DSL’s comment, check what they will actually do, is it to LR spec, first post in the link.
