I think the "service30" means your service is due in 30 days. This recalculates depending on the mileage you do or the date you last had a service (whichever is sooner). As I was only doing low mileage the 30 days took 45 days to reach.

Thanks, but this still isn't adding up to 12 months or 15,000 miles.
It's either 2 months too eary by age/regisration or 4,800 miles short by milage and i can't see me doing 4,800 miles in 30 days. ATB

sounds like your dealer did not reset prior to you buying and the system has been started when the car was manufactured maybe? I had this once with a BMW Z4

I was beginning to think along htose lines myself, not so much the dealer not resetting it, as i collected the D3 in October 08 with 5,500 miles on it and arranged a deal with the service dept, as they had the vehicle for the first 6 months. (but may be 8 months going with what i mention below)
What i was, am wondering is, if the car was built in or around the Feb 08, but not actually registerd until the 02/04/2008 and it's picking up the interval on this, rather than the actual time the vehicle has been on the roads?ATB

Counts down the days for you too. Mine clicked on at 28 days and like clockwork it drops a day at around 3pm every afternoon. I assume that coincides with the time at which it was reset.
My problem now is that its due for service at end of Feb whereas my MOT is due end of March. Stealer is offering free MOT if done with major service so I've got to try to juggle dates to get my service done late enough not to invalidate warranty but early enough to get a free MOT.I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member...........

Think you can have the MoT done up to a month beforehand and they'll date it to when it was first registered.
I had mine done 1st December 2008 and they dated it 28th

...and counts happily into the negative without consequence if you don't reset it (ie service yourself or indie without IDS).Cheers
