Service / Compressor
Hi all,
Looking into selling my D4 2010 due to the costs (don't worry, i will still be sticking with land rover...)
Insurance + loan + fuel + tax (i crashed my previous D3 and didn't get a insurance payout … oops.
Couple things i need to do before i sell:
Service (its currently at 133,000 mile - is this a full service or just oil changes (in other words, can I do from home or shall i take to an Indy?)

Hi
Carefully worded where it says AMK style compressor so indeed knockoffs , sorry but haven’t got an AMK so alas don’t know what parts can be replaced on them , someone else should be along that can help more

Just looked and see there are some dryer rebuild kits , alas not sure if that’s the fault but wished to at least share the links just in case that’s useful
Blocked air filters & condensated granules inside the air dryer chamber of your AMK unit, together with Worn exhaust valve seals can result in the amk unit not letting the air pressure out of the vehicle’s air suspension system causing a dashboard alarm message and producing a diagnostic trouble code C1A13
also Blocked and condensated filtration can also reduce the outgoing air pressure of the air compressor causing your vehicle to rise slowly or fault out completely illuminating a dashboard message once again creating a C1A20 Diagnostic trouble code in the vehicles ecu,
periodically servicing your amk air dryer unit can avoid water damage to electro mechanical components deep inside your air compressor and your vehicles EAS system.
Each time you switch off your vehicle and back on again you reset any fault generally ! depending on the severity of water contamination and blocked filters in your amk air dryer chamber system
the fault usually returns in a short period of time generally letting you drive your vehicle at normal rideout with dashboard message illuminated and thus the cycle continues.

So i cant say it went too well...
All 3 screws on the black plastic cover snapped - good start...
Bottom two bolts on the L bracket of compressor came off okay.
Then I take a look at the top bolt, its already rounded off! Someone must have been at it before I purchased the car...
Its quite a tight squeeze so couldn't get any other tool on it apart from a spanner.
Any ideas? if not i guess i will just need to cut the L bracket at the bottom, drop the compressor out then cut the bolt - at that point i might as well buy a new compressor + kit.
Cheers

Plus 1 , ref the irwin sockets ^^^^
Same happened when I took my old compressor off, refitted all new stainless steel bolts, rubber washers and new bracket , chassis clips , plus undersealed the chassis with Dinitrol when it was removed
Certainly doesn’t help with the cold and indeed would be tempted to fit a new compressor so it’s all done and dusted
As my bracket was broke I used a dremel to cut the rest of the compressor off which made life easier , plus the bracket bushings were shot, as a side note if u do need a new bracket some don’t come with new bushings
