Hi all.
I am just putting out feelers about selling my 2007 MY07 TDV6 SE (although I have checked some car websites they all seem to only talk about a MY06 upgrade or MY08 and no MY07!). Prices can vary by $10,000 between sites!
It has done 72000Km, Has a Mitchell hitch and dual batteries. Only towed a camper trailer 2-3 times.
Has had a new rear diff installed a few months ago under warrenty due to whine. Lower front arms done last year.
Has Bi-Xenon active cornering lights and Ediff as well as full set of rubber mats.
I am looking at upgrading to a 3.0L D4 and I guess the dealers will maybe give around $30,000+ as trade in although I would hope for $40,000+.
Private sale looks to be around $40,000+.
I am in the ball park?
thanks for any advice or insight. regards
Peter

You have answered your own question - in your description you say you have a 2007 MY07 - so you have the upgrades associated with MY07 (MY07 applied from late 2006 to mid 2007.
In theory there are 2006 MY07 and 2007MY07 vehicles and then later there are 2007MY08 vehicles.

HI Garry,
Its just interesting that two websites did not list a "2007 MY07" but had "2006 MY06 upgrade" or 2008
Thanks caver for the crosslink regards
Peter

resuscitating this old thread to announce that I (after a LOOOOOng time) have bought a new SDV6 Disco4 HSE.
I did not get it before as the 8 speed box was not available at the time.
So on getting my 7 year service I got a trade-in valuation of $20,000 (it was $35,000 18 months ago!).
HOWEVER, the car was $129,500 reduced to $109,500 as it was a Oct 2013 demo with 3700km on it. AND they reduced it to $103,000 if I took it then (which I did) AND as it was the 'runaway' sale weekend I also got free registration, plates, NO stamp duty or dealer delivery (IE drive away).
So all up it was $83,000 after trade in!
Needless to say I am very happy!
The rear air is a boon for the kids, and it has amazing acceleration. and there are more gadgets to play with than Inspector gadget has
It is in a lovely 'Loire Blue' colour (maybe that it what tipped the sale as we had just spent a week in the Loire valley in France in Sep/Oct. AND the salesman obviously didn't know the name and pronounced it 'low-I-ree' ).
Had just taken the Merc M350GL for a drive and although a lovely car it wasn't suitable for camping with it's space saver tire, side steps, 20 or 21 inch rims (imagine getting a replacement for them in Mudgee let alone Lightning Ridge ) etc.
As I had a Mitchell hitch (for the camper trailer that was staying with the D3) they also included the towing ball and tongue for the new Australian (proper) towing hitch that the D4 comes with.
unfortunately the ROLA roof bars have a different system on the D3 to the D4 and so I will need new ones and I have NO IDEA what to do about the second battery (traxis) I had set up as there is NO space in the D4 were it went in the D3
Also, don't have the adaptive headlights which I found good in the country nor the electric rear diff regards
Peter

Sound like a a great car.
You can fit the second battery by moving stuff in the battery box.
I take it the bars went on the OEM LR rails? If you don't have any rails on the new one go for Rhino rails. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

The kit for the D4 comes with a tray so that the aux is mounted in front of the craning battery (not in the spare compartment like the D3). I put the Traxide kit in the D3 and in the D4 by myself with the only drama in the D4 being the feed of the cable through the firewall - otherwise it was just as easy as the D3 install so don't be afraid to head down that path again!
Enjoy the new beast, I'm 6 months into my new D4 and still can't get enough of driving or looking at it! 2012 MY13 SDV6 SE D4 Ipanema Sand with Almond leather

Not that easy getting 19" tyres either out in the sticks.
And Tim has a Traxide kit for the D4; not a difficult fit. A trick I found was to get a rod to push out the grommet in the firewall, then pull the cable through with it, rather than trying to push the cable through from the footwell.

Ditto, I pushed the grommet out with a rod, then fed a small piece of wire into the hole from the engine bay, taped the 12v cable to the wire in the foot well and pulled the wire and cable through from the engine bay
(I worked as a labourer for an electrician when I was young so learned a lot of cable feeding techniques! - learned a lot of other things hanging out with tradies too ) 2012 MY13 SDV6 SE D4 Ipanema Sand with Almond leather

In the D3 the rear socket was only live with the ignition on. However, in my D4 it is live all the time. Is this what others have found?
So if I go the traxide D4 kit I will not have to run a loom to the rear socket I guess as the setup allows the second battery to be drained before the cranking battery and will isolate the cranking battery if it starts to get drained below a certain level.
is this correct? regards
Peter

Don't think so, the power for the rear socket is taken from the cranking battery - nothing comes off the second battery unless you actually wire it yourself. It's not hard running the loom, but if you had to, I suppose you could modify the 12V power to the socket fuse to come off the second battery. Be aware though, that the Traxide loom will handle higher current draws than the std wiring.

It's misleading; the socket is live for a time when you open the doors (and not start the engine), and again for some time after. The it cuts out. Same with the sockets in the centre console.
So I wired that into the Traxide.

Ahhh, thanks for the replies and the info guys.
That's sneaky of the socket doing that! I wonder why they have it like that?
Sounds like it will need to have a new loom run to the back then. regards

New thick cable from engine bay, through grommet driver's side, under RHS sill to area around jack. The under carpet to the other side. Not difficult to do.
