second key fob died

so this is my first topic...

Bought a LR 3 from 2008 with an TDV6 HSE and got 2 key fobs.
The owner said both are fine and well how stupid can one man be I did't check the second one.

This one is dead and not only the batt but also the antenna coil is damaged so I'll need a new one.
But how can I read the new key in my car software? Does icarsoft do this job?

Many thanks for reading!

I don't know about ICarsoft but you can certainly reprogramme keys with an IID tool... spare fobs (with a blank key) are easily obtainable on Ebay just make sure you get the 433Mhz one, the fob can then be programmed with your tool (or local LR specialist), the blank key can either be cut at a locksmiths or take the one out of the damaged fob and use that...

Also check how many keys are registered to the car as you can only have a maximum (can't remember if it's 3 or 5) so you may have to delete the old key first..
I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

If the second key hasn't been used for a long time, it may just be flat. They're charged by an inductive loop around the ignition switch. I think it's possible to charge a key on another type of inductive charger, have a search on here.

first I thought it's the battery so I ordered a new one,
soldering isn't a issue for me,
but than I found out someone damaged the antenna coil..... Sad

The Autel AP200 will code in replacement keys easily, eBay keys are good though mine wouldn’t hold charge so had to replace the battery and not every locksmith has a machine to cut the blade, though you have a blade to use🤔
