Sealant cleaning

I am in the process of giving the caravan a good clean. Soon be warm enough to go!! However the sealant round the small doors was white and has now gone dark grey/black. Diesel fumes I suspect. Short of getting it all out and resealing is there any way of cleaning the sealant? The grime seems to scratch off easily, but only in some areas. Any ideas?

i had no joy.

the sealant should be like a mastic rather than silicon so it absorbs the dirt.

i scraped out and re sealed in dark grey which might not suit the style of you caravan but did mine.

only thing i considered but didn't try was grout brightener for tiling. it's like a white wash pen.

All caravan manufacturers go wild with the goo gun don't they.

Your best bet is to scrape the surplus off with a wooden tool of some description to limit the amount on show Thumbs Up

Scraped the excess mastic from around the battery hatch on the previous van and resealed with forever white (ever build make it) and it stayed white for the two years we owned it.
Use it on bathroom jobs and does what it says on the tube.

If you re-apply sealer, watch what you use as some sealers attack alluminium.
