Screen wash
Hi all has anybody fitted heated jet washers to front of their vehicle and it wasn’t standard fitting?
Just wondered without stripping bonnet off if they’d work out the packet so as to speak
Thanks in advance

If you have the wiring, the D4 heated jets are supposedly better.

I very much doubt that your D3 will have the wiring, (mine is a base 7 seater, and doesn’t). Do you really need this in Cornwall ? I just put -10 deg C washer fluid in mine, and it has never frozen on me so far, and what with global warming etc. .......Pointless expenditure IMHO. D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

In winter I use near-concentrate levels of washer fluid so it doesn't freeze (well maybe it would if we hit -20deg as it's rated to). It's more expensive than watering it down but not as expensive as crashing with a screen full of winter muck. Plus the berry scent is lovely D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Well you use screen was mix
I’m not a advocate of heated jets, but I think the theory is that its a
Small hole and external, so first point to freeze

That heatshot system looks a lot like the hotshot system i had installed in my Subaru outback when i owned one...
Hotshot was from microheat (australia?) and distributed in europe by Webasto..
I bought it in 2005 i think.. worked perfect, easy install, worked in Norway below minus 30 celcius never froze, ( the fluid we’d use was for minus 60 deg celcius though ) and in The summer it cleans also a lot quicker with heated (summer) fluid
Pricing in 2005 was far better... i think i paid around 130 quid
My D3 has the factory fitted system says the spec sheet... never checked....if it is there and working..
Where are the heated units? Behind the sound proofing material?
I still have the hotshot system laying around.... always good to have, seeing today’s pricing, and if some future motor isn’t equipped with such a system (So not for sale )
If someone wants more info about the very easy install, please ask..Best regards
Harold

Whats the difference? I fitted new genuine washer jets to my D4 and there identical to the ones i have fitted to my D3.
I suppose they could have been replaced at some point.Andrew

There was an old thread on this forum where someone said that the heating elements in the D4 are better/stronger or break less often.
