Scratched trim
I couldn't be bothered to wash my D3 last week and took it to a hand car wash place locally. Used them loads of times (lazy fat ba$tard=me) for my previous car and the wifes TT. Never had a problem before. I didn't notice at the time of cleaning, but when I got home I leathered a few water streaks and found a scratch on the plastic trim cladding to the lower tailgate. Because this panel is so big and plain it shows the scratch in all it's glory. I may have had the scratch there before the clean and washing it just made it more obvious. Whatever!
Anyone know of a knack to remove the mark without making it worse? FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

Scratched Car
Good news - the 3 yr old cleaned my D3 (and the wife's X Trail) today all on his own.
Bad news - his sponge was a sharp rock!

I've collected scratches on this panel, 1 long one each side, and I think they were done at dealers, probably when washing it, and pulling a hose or something across the back end of the car. Yup it annoys me too, don't seem to be able to get them to show less either.

Don't auction, think of the tax retun complications. Just tell the recipient that it is a gift!

My local dealer recommended them when I melted part of my interior trim (plastic) They did superb job and rates were reasonable. Best of all they come to you!

You gotta be right Ronp.
Just washed it myself today. Just needed the motivation from somewhere and found it by walking round and thinking how it looked dusty (having just had it washed on Sunday). Where I'd wiped the rear screen it had left dusty streaks down the tailgate. Next thing I knew I was running a bucket of water and getting stuck in. Took about 40 minutes of slog but it looks a treat and well worth the effort. Ronp just give me a kick now and then to remind me I owe it a wash just because it makes me so happy. Get yourself some "Finesse-it" by 3M - it's a micro-abrasive (like T-cut, but far supeior and less aggressive)
Damned expensive (about £15/litre), but lasts forever, and gets out all sorts of scuffs and scratches.2005 Disco 3 TDV6 7 seater. Leather, DVD, fully colour-coded.
