Hi Guys
Looking for some advice from all you well informed Disco3 owners.
I am going to order a Disco3 XS Commercial, but would like some opinions on Scottish LR Dealers, you know best deals & best warranty workers.
Any help appreciated.
THANKS.
PS Scottish Dealers only because I live in Scotland, Dont want to travel to far.

I too had a really bad time with Shields in Greenock a few years ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I bought my new D3 last September I got a really good deal from Pentland in Edinburgh, a lot better than the old J B Smith in Cupar, but Pentland are not too good on warranty work. If you go in with a specific problem that is well documented on this website and even if you quote the TSB number, their response is "never heard of that one sir" I honestly belive they have never yet heard of the cambelt problems on the 300 Tdi, nor the overheating on Freelander K series engines "hmmmm thats the first Freelander we have seen overheat sir"
I really dont trust them to do my first service and will probably be looking elsewhere, might even have a weekend down at Lakeland.

Strange, I actually went to Taggart's at Motherwell - travelling 3 hours on the Train from Stockton on Tees as they bent over backwards and gave me a cracking deal on a new TDV6 HSE, not bad since I have a LR Stratstone less than 2 miles from my door who couldn't be bothered to even return my calls.......

I suppose it all boils down to who you speak to at the Dealership and how you get on with that individual.

i dealt with Chris Nairn at Morrisons in Stirling.
nice guy and even did some dealing and work for me on his days off.
all in all we had a good experience with them so would recommend them to you.
we have only bought so far, no comments on the servicing yet

I have used Morrison's Stirling for the purchase of my last 6 Land Rovers, Chris Rob or Gordon are all good guys but don't expect huge discounts. The servicing is pretty good and I have always had great treatment.
If you are looking for a Commercial D3 with immediate delivery then Lix Toll Land Rover up at Killin have a TDv6 Commercial on the forecourt with 6 miles on it at present. http://dealerservices.autotrader.co.uk/9941/StockList.htm Now a disillusioned new Land Rover buyer and have jumped ship to something less expensive and more reliable that hugs trees.... now driving a Mini Countryman PHEV as well as my trusty and brilliant 1996 Epsom Green Defender90 Tdi300

Well gents,
I must thank you again for all your help & advice in pointing me in the right direction.
Tim thanks for the link to the commercial for sale, nice car but I am lazy & prefer the auto box.
Just another question = How do you gents feel the disco3 commercial, would stand up to heavy use, primarily the air suspension & back doors.
Thanks.

We had a few issues with brake pads needing replaced at Pentland. They eventually solved the problem, but had a few probs on the way.. 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

Taggarts in Motherwell gave me an extended test drive of an SE, no questions asked but after that were not interested in brokering a deal with my existing car and cut all communication with me.
Rossleigh in Edinburgh, now Stratstone, were very good at doing a deal, but once signed no feedback on progress and initially ordered the wrong colour. This was only found out prior to the build date, when I got a call to see if I wanted to add anything.
Only dealings with rossleigh aftercare is by servicing and suspension fault. A very nice gentleman came and took my D3 away and returned it serviced. On the fault, LR assist organised for my car to be taken to them, but got the feeling that becaus it was not an HSE or some other pricey variant, just a lowly 'S' spec, then they would get round to having a look at it. They had the car for four days, then said it was a dirty height sensor.
Like most on here, I'll be doing the rounds and then calling Lakeland with what I want, where hopefully I can get a good deal as many have had on here. Scottish dealers are mainly in town environments and are now selling RRS machines to posers and are treating us all like poo!!
My thoughts anyway.
