Scorpion Verde All Season - Correct symbol for Germany?
Hi, I understand you now need tyres with the three peak alpine symbol for driving in Germany in winter. Does anyone know if the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season has this symbol? I can see M&S but no mountain when looking online.2014 D4 HSE Lux

ISTR Germany is M&S min, not 3 peaks. They were going to do 3 peaks but backed off.

I read that they do require 3 peaks but there is a grace period...

Ah ok thanks. I was told that in January 2018 they passed a law that in winter you have to now have the three peaks with a snowflake in the middle on your tyres. Just M&S is no longer accepted. I may have read this wrong though.2014 D4 HSE Lux

And from what I understand this grace period is if you have tyres on your car that are pre-2018. Otherwise if you are putting new tyres on the car you need to have the Alpine symbol.2014 D4 HSE Lux

Grace period lasts until 2024 but the tyres must have been manufactured and fitted prior to January 2018 and you have to be able to provide proof of the date of manufature and fitting.
To the best of my knowledge Scorpion Verde do not currently have the 3 peak mountain symbol.

Date of manufacture is easy, it’s on the side of every tire. It’s called the DOT code.

Just looked at my wife’s Evoque her Scorpion Verde All Season 235/55/19 don’t have the three peaks.

Think I’m therefore going to run two sets of tyres, winter and summer. What winter tyres do you guys run on your D3s and 4s?2014 D4 HSE Lux

Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 SUV with studs so you may ignore me as an inconsiderate northern heathen not suited to drive on the soft and comfortable central and Western European roads with them on
