Sat nav screen stuck ay entry screen

Just driven back from the Alpes today. Absolutely no back ache, carrying the full load of family, doggs and bikes! What a brilliant car. But.... first time ever the sat nav screen would not accept input via fingers. When I switched the car on this morning it got to the start screen - enter accept to agree etc, but would not move on. Then after much pressing got the rolling map showing our progress but wouldn't accept any other input. So is this likely to a new touch screen or does it get more expensive? Had a quick search didn't see it listed, does the Tesco warrenty cover this?
Thanks everyone,
Duncan Very Happy

Reasonably sure that Tesco doesn't cover sat navs, but I may be wrong. Sad

Have you tried cleaning the screen? I had input issues in the early days - a quick clean with a computer screen cleaner and suddenly my fingers could successfully press any part of the screen. No idea what was on the screen to confuse it; it looked mostly clean, was just a mass of fingerprints.

Please replace the previous edition of this bulletin.
This bulletin supersedes TSB LTB00179v2/2008 dated 06 November, which should either be destroyed or clearly marked to show it is no longer valid (e.g. with a line across the page).

Subject/Concern: Infotainment System Lock-Up

Models:
Discovery 3 / LR3 VIN-range: LA000259-LA502269
Range Rover (LM) VIN-range: LM239036-LM297754
Range Rover Sport (LS) VIN-range: LS900109-LS199067

Markets: All
Section: 415-00

Summary:
A customer may experience one of the following concerns:

• The touchscreen freezes on the Land Rover logo.

• The touchscreen freezes on the Land Rover logo and the audio cuts in and out every three seconds.

• The touchscreen freezes on the Land Rover logo and there is no audio.

This version has been issued for a change in the Summary and IDS DVD.

Cause: This issue is due to the HLDF having no communications on Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST), this causes the MOST system to enter a continuous re-boot cycle. Suggested Customer Concern Code - A18.
Action: Should a customer express concern, reconfigure the front entertainment control module and the integrated head unit.

Basically it needs to be hooked up to IDS for reconfiguring Thumbs Up

Just as a experiment I'd try disconnecting the battery and leaving it off for a few minutes then reconnect it again allowing the system to reboot. It works for jammed up CD players etc and the infotainment system is all linked.
No harm in trying it ... Thumbs Up

I would remove the disk and clean that first ..failing that there is a couple of tests in the diagnostic menu ..most bus signal and touch screen test ..but if your struggling to push a button you might find it hard to access the diagnostics
