DiscoMad you are a star! you have solved the mystery (to me anyway) of what makes the sat nav screen dim and yes if you shine a torch at the sensor in the instrament panel the screen does get brighter. Mine works fine, it must be the crap weather we are getting that is making it so dim just now. Thanks. Very Happy

Gareth ,the sensor on the rear veiw mirror is for the rain and also controls the auto headlights.

Sat Nav screen dimming

This seems to controlled by the sensor in the dash. When it's bright (daytime) the screen is bright, when it's dark (night) the screen becomes duller. However the system is very slow to react. It always seems to start with a very bright screen (irritating at night) and after about 10 - 15 minutes it adjusts. The dash lights dimmer also affects the sat nav screen. Basically it looks like we're going to have to live with this.

Once I set the default level I was happy with, doesn't seem to be a problem, maybe i'm too 'relaxed' Rolling Eyes
