Sat nav screen black

Hi all
Just been out to move my d3 and the sat nav screen went black Big Cry the stereo still works and the 2 hard buttons for screen make a sound when pressed. Any advice is more than welcome.

could be the back light tube.


point a torch at it and then press the buttons to see if you can see an image changing

no point trying this in bright sunlight

Quick update on the black screen, got in the car this morning started up and all back to normal so not sure what happened but all ok for now .
Thanks for the advice Thumbs Up will take the disc out and give it a clean.

Mine has a brain fart every now and then where it will be like a static filled screen but lines not dots and then next time I switch on it works fine. Jarrod

The DVD drive shouldn't be able to cause the screen to be black. The worse it should be able to do is produce a message, "SAT NAV Not available"
