Sat Nav and Radio freezing |
|
Help
Had my Disco 3 (xs) delivered on the 5th Jan. Nothing but hassle. Been driving Audi's all my life and this is new to me..
My Sat nav screen is frozen, just the LR screen 24/7. Radio no response either. Phoned dealer and had to wait for 10 days before they will look at it. ('')
Any ideas?
Thanks

Gooner, I'd suggest you change dealers at this early stage. Nor reason why they can't just take a lookto chck anything obvious. ESP after such a short time!!!

Remove the disk from the dvd under the passenger seat ..give it a clean then put it back in .That may cure the sat nav .
Pull out the fuse for the radio and put it back in ..see if it resets .

When mine does this the dealer just disconnects the battery for a minute. Then all is well for a while again.
Very annoying..........
However mine is an 05 model.......... end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

Mine did that every so often from new and the problem was that it had not been taken out of transit mode correctly. To sort the problem it will need to have the software reinstalled for two modules. This will take about an hour and a half at your dealers. Mine gave no trouble since then.

Good luck!
Rough season. The injury list is a Who's Who of top-flight football. Would rather have Cesc or Rosicky back then Arshavin...

Arenenal boy - My last Audi was delivered late as all the hydraulic engine mounts had a recall !!! Sound advice about changing dealers. They should be falling over themselves to help a new customer "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I've a slighty different problem in that if I click the green phone button or the mode button - it hangs the radio / CD - ie no sound - display shows "phone mode" - can't do anything. If you turn off the radio - no effect. Turn off & on the engine - no effect. System recovers after about 15mins or so every time. Have noticed that none of my phones will connect via bluetooth anymore.
No visits to dealers yet - no mods done between it working and now causing trouble.
Any ideas? / suggestions?

Oats,
Could be the clockspring. Also, do you have the factory-fit PTI or was this dealer-fit? If you press the phone power button on the radio itself, does it say "Bluetooth" or "No phone fitted". What phone do you have?

Took the car to LR dealer this morning and they have re-installed sat nav software and also installed some updates for the radio, so they said. Acid test will be tomorrow morning when I start the car. If it works fine then I will be a happy bunny.
