Sat Nav on the move - I never even knew?

Yipee... Just found out by accident today that I can enter sat-nav destinations on the move in the D4. Surprised no one's mentioned this before, seeing as it's a life changing design improvement! Rolling Eyes

I have one of the early sat nav units in the D3. You can enter destinations on the move too. Maybe it was changed half way through.

Yes.

Our original nav disc (2006) would allow entries on the move once you inputted the 1791 (I think) override code. Now on a 2008 disc which won't allow this.... Sad

I think the change came about on the 2008MY. I can imput on the move, and can remember it being mentioned as a new feature when I bought my Disco. Thumbs Up

Change was with the MY07 systems,

Older ones can have an update which allows satnav on the move withoiut having to enter any codes wtc. Takes about 1-1/2-2 hours to do though. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

Transmission Flush
Software updates/enabling

Clock/ SNOTM /3Flash / 4x4Info /BT Update /Service Reset/Error Codes / Gearbox Reset

I have a Nov 04 version. Bought it with 4x4 info activated but can't enter destinations on the move. I haven't heard about an unlock code before. Can anyone please tell me how and where I enter this?

I'd love to know as it's the only reason why I never use the unit. I never have the patience to sit in the hot car for 5 minutes entering it where as right near my house I always have to sit in 5 minutes worth of traffic at the nearby junction so could set-off and start entering in there! our 2011 D4 has this function - seem to remember that it had to be enabled in the 'setup' program (or such) no code required. LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

sat nav on the move has been standard on all D3's since MY2007 - upgradeable for D3's before this (as Bodsy said above) and standard on all D4's since launch - at least in the UK
