Sat Nav Guidance does not work |
|
I have a new Disco 3 (3wks old) and the sat nav does not work correctly. Everything appears normal, the post code goes in, the destination is found, the route is selecetd and then when you start driving it does not direct you. The pop up map with the turns does not come up and teh voice does not state the direction to turn. Checked all the settings (guidance is on - voice is on) and tried recalibrating the position/direction but to no avail. The disc has even been changed. Anyone had this problem before.

Silly question, but you've got it set to UK? When you change disks, it used to default to Belgium for some reason!
Have you tried different roiutes and starting on the journey? Is the Radio on , do you hear the radio go quiet when you press the small speaker icon on the bottom right of the screen (this would normally give you the next or current instruction) (perhaps the satnav volume is set to zero?) Yes and yes but if you go off route it does not recalculate!

It did reset to Belgium and I reset to UK. The radio does dim - the voice does work. When you prompt for directions by pressing the nav button the radio dims and the voice states refer to map. When you arrive at your destination it also tells you that you have arrived.

I think you may need to re-calibrate the Sat Nav in the settings menu. It seems to me as though it doesn't think that you are actually on a road, so will only start navigating when it believes you ARE on the road. Bodsys Brake Bible

I've never run the recalibration, so no idea how it works.
