Can I get an updated disc for my 59 plate D3 HSE. ?
The old one is ok but well out of date. 1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

You have a number of options.....
1: The only legitimate way of updating it is to buy a disc from Landrover (assuming they have any left), they last produced them in 2012 and charge several hundred pounds for this 6 year out of date disc. Oddly enough I don't think anyone takes this approach now!
2: Because LR have stopped supporting the D3 satnav the only way of getting the latest data is, sadly, probably not entirely legitimate hence we are not allowed to post links on here,

Advising on workarounds are not allowed either
3: Buy a phone holder and use Google maps which is pretty much superior in every way to the built in Satnav!

So, bought a new 2018 disc. Watched the utube videos on how to swap discs. All fine so far. Much easier than the video. The front plate comes off easy, it is not necessary to remove the second one, just slide the seat forward, the CD player stays put, it creates enough space to remove the disc.
Ejected the disc, surprised to find a 2009/2010 disc was in it.
So popped in the new 2018, watched the screen waiting for the loading sequence. It never happened.
It just works as normal as if I hadn't changed the disc. It must be reading the disc otherwise it wouldn't work.
No complaints just curious

It will only do the software update first if the Nav system had not previously been updated. Your one with the 2009 disk would have done the update.
As long as the disk has more new roads on then all should be fine. Bodsys Brake Bible
