Which is the latest version of the sat nav for a MY 2011.
Is it really no other way of updating than trough the dealer?
Will this mean that the sa nav is useless if LR is not doing current upgrades?

have a look at satnavishop, 2018/19 update available on USB for £99.99 delivered on production of VIN number.
ive used them for FL2 disc and it was spot on, no issues. Plenty on the Freel2 forum have used them as well.

early 2011 model then?
apparently the early D4 (6 speed) cannot be updated by anything other than the dealer.
IIRC
D3 are all disc based.
Early D4 (late 2009-early 2011 6 speed) are hard drive based and cannot be updated except by dealer
D4 (late 2011 - 2016 8 speed) are also hard drive but are USB updatable 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Have now found out that my Nav version is WEU:V20100501.
Does anyone know if there is a later for MY 2011 (6speed)
Is this model still updated or have they stopped as they did on Disco 3 with DVD?

Hello all,
I've just done it through the dealer. I have a 2011 model 6 speed. Latest update for it's satnav model goes till 2014 only, unfortunately. The worst 199 euros i've ever spent! I haven't seen ANY difference from my original satnav. the same unknown roundabouts or even avenues, are still there! I have to use google maps on my smartphone to find most addresses...

Frankly a decent Android or Apple device running Waze and Google Maps is infinitely preferable to even the current JLR SatNav.
