Santander to Almeria.

Getting of the boat in Santander in mid March at 12 noon with a large trailer and wondered if anyone has any idea on a nice safe hotel to stop on route, looking to drive till about 6pm, should average a good 60mph.

Need a safe place as we have quite valuable kit on board and don't mind the cost tooooooooooooo much but like a good nights sleep.

Long shot but you never know. Thumbs Up

Many thanks.

on a serious note , my good friend docked in santander and had to drive to alicante with his wife end of last summer to dog site for a month for friends ,
they stoped at a cafe after 2 hours driving, for cupa , came out carried on motor way ,had a bad blow out so on hard sholder changing wheel , a nice go faster bmw pulled over and parked in front of them , grabbed handbag etc and sped off ,
my friend said the tyre had been damaged in cafe with knife , as being ex traffic cop and other special stuff , he shoud no ,he said the bmw had 3 men in all eastern block ,he grabed the door handle and got thrown to the side as they sped off , 20 miles down motor way another car had the same but not bmw and another one 20 miles on and again not bmw , so its big gang working the motorway , police did not want to no , so be aware when ever you stop .
best one stays in car , its a sad thing people have to go through this , id keep a crow bar etc one under seat and one in boot of car and give them what for . Censored Censored

When doing long hauls to S Spain & portugal I used the HI Express at Trescantos (just N of Madrid) as it has underground parking. Bit put of the way but wasn't in a rush. Also watch the 80km limit fr trailers, strictly enforced. Evil or Very Mad
