My Sankey spare wheel carrier.
Well I have finally got round to making a spare wheel carrier for my Sankey after keeping my spare wheel on the Prospeed rack for the past couple of trips which is or was a real pain in the neck ( literally)
So I did a couple of sketches and decided on what I wanted to achieve,
Didn't want it welded to the trailer in case I wanted to remove it.
Had to avoid the brake master cyl and needed access to the grease points on the brake overrun ram.
Needed to be secure to avoid my alloy being half inched .
So this is what I came up with .
And then fastened it onto the A frame with 10 mm rivnuts.
And now with the wheel in position .
Just need a 14 x 1.5 wheel stud so I can secure it with one of my redundant locking wheel nuts.
And then modify the jockey wheel handle
And then a couple of coats of silver enamel and hopefully will be rocking and rolling

Looking good.
You may want to have a think about putting another stud on as with just the one stud and a bumpy road, it could quite easily come undone as the wheel bounces. Bodsys Brake Bible

It's as tight as a nuns chuf at the mo I'll see how it goes at the weekend,
If I need 2 studs on, I may have to make the mounting plate larger or have the studs off set and I like everything in straight lines MY18 D5 HSE LUX😎
