[For Sale] Selling the Old Bus £2500
If you want to dip your toes into D3 ownership without breaking the bank, then I'm be selling my Old Bus . She's 2005 S manual (lower VED) with a D4 facelift, has done 232,000 miles and is the most stupidly reliable car ever.
I look after her mechanically and have years and years of receipts - she's a bit like Triggers broom (I've owned her since new in March 2005). If you want to check her MOT history the reg is WU05WKM. You can also look through my posts on here to see my comments about her.
All the belts have been done, she's regularly serviced and well maintained. New compressor, clutch, DMF, EPB module incl rear brakes rebuild and replacement, discs and pads, front and middle seats and lots of other bits incl service in the past 18 months. She's not perfect, she has her foibles, she's a bit bruised, but not dented after 14 years of daily use, but actually she scrubs up well given a wash and brush up. I use her daily and never think that she won't get me or my family to where we won't to go.
I will be sad to see her go because she's almost part of the family and has taken us on many adventures.
I'm away at the moment but i'll post some pictures up when I get back. She's in for an MOT on Friday.
Looking for £2500 hopefully with 12 months MOT.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

Serious question but not suggesting for a minute that that's what you should do but
how much would you realise from breaking it for spares?
Reason I ask it that seems seriously cheap for a motor with a years MOT

Spill the beans, Moo...Ford, Volvo, Merc, Bentley perhaps?
I came very close to buying a new Cayenne after typical lousy service from LR dealer when interested in a new FFRR, but something happened recently that made me realise I needed more space and something I wasn't going to precious about. Sadly there is nothing else that competes with a D3/D4 so i'm off to pick up a D4 tonight.
This will be an interim car until hopefully something like the Rivian is launched in the UK.
Anyway, if anyone has any questions about the Old Bus then just ask away. New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

Mr M are you leaving all the kit on such as rack, ladder and split charge system ?The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

Couldn’t do that - too much sentimental attachment and besides she’s too good to break. I use her every day. Never lets me down. Took her to Petersfield at the weekend to look at a school for my daughter. Up hill down dale, ice and snow and she never missed a beat and it never occurred to us that she wouldn’t get us there and back.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

I take it by “interim” you mean just 5-10 years’ ownership
I have now idea what a “Rivian” is!2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!
(One of only two known to exist in the world!)
