[For Sale] Non Runner 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6
Sadly for sale is my Buckingham Blue Discovery 3 TDV6 base model.
212000 Miles on the clocks but not relevant really as the engine is not saveable.
Spun a shell and the crank shaft has seized solid.
Gearbox had a new HD torque converter and flex plate before the last owner took it off the road as well as a full gearbox service. It was silky smooth when I drove it.
Reg number GU05 ECY.
Never been written off.
Black cloth interior (7 Seats) needs a good clean still.
Cruise Control.
Fully working air suspension.
Fully working EPB.
Climate Control.
Roof rails.
Electric Windows all round.
Remote Central Locking.
Electric Heated Mirrors.
Power Steering.
The belts look fairly recent to me.
Engine was tapping, but it actually ran really well after initial cold start up. 1 injector was playing up with we think.
Turbo worked perfectly.
Rear Parking Sensors.
This car was quick. I think it may have been remapped as it was quicker than any D3 I have driven before.
Door trim not shown in the picture is actually in the car.
I have found a company on Ebay who will supply and fit a reconditioned engine for £2750.
But I bought a low mileaged SE Discovery 3 instead to use.
I have updated this description as a few things have changed. Current ad is up to date.
I have this car in storage between Heathfield and Uckfield, East Sussex.
I am no longer in any hurry to sell the car as I have other things on the go and sorted an alternative car. Where before I was desperate to get it gone from the garage I had it at in Dartford.
Ultimately, I plan on getting a donor D3 and fitting the engine from it or from a Jag S Type and do lots of upgrades and then keep the Discovery. But for now, It remains passively for sale.
To me, it is worth every penny of £1500 ono. So if you want to prise this from my hands, your offer will need to not be too far from this figure.
I genuinely like this car despite the engine seizing on me.
Please see updated pictures below.
I do know someone who can transport this for you for whatever fee he charges you.
The V5 is registered to my home address and is in my name.

I would indeed suggest said course of action. It’s very therapeutic, if you’ve got the time, space and energy. No skills needed, if I can do it an untrained monkey on speed can. At least you got 50k more out of her than my old girl did before the bearings spun.

19" Standard Discovery 3 wheels from the HSE model. Due to my internet being down and tethering to mobile data, I can't upload pictures at the moment. However, Unless an offer north of £1200 is made, as of tomorrow night, this will no longer be for sale at all as I have arranged long term storage and will decide what to do with it at a later date.
