[For Sale] Discovery 5 HSE SD4
For sale: my Discovery 5 HSE 2Ltr, registered April 2018 on an 18 plate.
It might be easier to list what it doesn’t have as it’s pretty much fully spec’d up, so here goes with what it does have:
Corris Grey
Black Pack
Black Roof
Dynamic Pack
22” Gloss back Alloys with Pirelli Scorpion Verde all season tyres
Full sized 22” Alloy spare with tyre that’s never been on the road
Full length roof rails
Twin pan sunroof
Side Steps
Mudflaps
Electrically deployed towbar with 13 pin electrics and trailer lighting test function
Black leather interior with white piping
Electric seats all round with memory and heating
Piano black trim
Luxury carpet mats
360 deg surround cameras
Digital dash
240 bhp engine with 500Nm torque (LR dropped this to 440Nm on 2019 models)
Full service history, MOT next April
39,000 miles, but might be just over 40k at the end of the month
Excellent body work, one tiny mark on passenger rear door, but that’s it.
2 owners, JLR and me.
It will be ready to go at the end of Sept, so you have time to come and take a look and decide.
Now, an important and honest bit: It blew its engine in the summer (went bang big time) but JLR stumped up for a complete new engine including turbo chargers and a new battery, fitted at main dealer in August, so whoever buys it has a brand new engine. Given how good the rest of the car is, if you stuck a private plate on it folks would think you had something a fair bit newer than a 2018 car.
I had already made my mind up to change it before it went bang ( and have an XC90 on order) so thought I was in the , but I’ll give LR their due, even though it was 15 months out of warranty, they didn’t argue, just agreed to replace whatever needed to get the car fixed.
After having a look round, this spec, age and mileage can be seen for high £30k, even into low £40k range.
I am looking for £34950, so you could save quite a few quid even after purchasing yourself a warranty.
If it sells via here I will include 3 285/40x22 Scorpion Verdes with over 6mm on each, so those coupled with the unused spare would give you another full set of tyres ( but there must be another 10k still left on the tyres still on the road)
I’ll also throw in the RLD spare wheel protector.
So for all you 3Ltr D4 owners sitting on a V6 timebomb, maybe this could be your next motor
Any inspection welcome.

That is a lovely looking car. Does it have the digital dash or was this model too early for that? EDIT - I see that you have listed the digital dash

Moo, thanks, Volvo have tweeked the model range slightly, so an XC90 Plus Dark, which is pretty close to the Rdesign but comes with panroof as standard, and also a light headlining which I prefer over the dark headlong that the Rdesign has. Gone for thunder grey

"IF" someone forced me to have a D5, it would be that absolutely exact spec and colour, minus the side steps. What a great D5, and I think a great bargain with the 'new' engine... Someone will get a nice motor there. GLWTS indeed D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Easy to remove the steps if you are tempted James, The steps in a D5 just unbolt and there is no cutting of the sill trim like there was in D3 or D4.
