without wishing to derail or break the rules, the vast majority of D4's at this price point are from used car dealers with faux warranty and finance being offered.
£30k+ is an awful lot of cash to hand over without much in the way of protection.
I'll be in the market for a D4 as soon as my amarok sells and tbh with a 25k-ish budget I'll be looking to buy somewhere where I have more recourse if it goes wrong.

Well I paid a premium for one with a warranty from a main stealers - I'm starting to wish I had just sorted out the issues myself as every time is goes in for work it comes back with something else damaged that they deny any knowledge of
The finance thing is a good point, but most banks offer almost the same rates - sometimes even better - when buying a car through them. I managed to get a % less through my own bank, but the dealer knocked a bit off the price so that it worked out the same over the period anyway just so they would get the sale with finance

the diesel paranoia is messing the market at the moment
it took me 3 months to shift the wifes C class merc and it was on for very fair money
the warranty is the other factor as people know these are complex and get twitchy about no or short warrantys
autotrader or ebay will get it sold for you but be patient and GLWTS MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car
