[For Sale] 2006 DISCOVERY 3 METROPOLIS LE (HSE) TDV6 AUTO
LANDROVER DISCOVERY 3 METROLPOLIS LE - 7 SEATER
This is a limited edition model, only 300 made and is basically a HSE spec but with some added extras. I took the car in part exchange from Marsie (a forum member here) as he had my BMW X5. I was going to sell on but decided to keep for while. He'd already had quite a bit of work done and I've also bought few new bits, tidied it up and had it serviced, full details below.
As you can see the car has had a few additional cosmetic upgrades:
20" Landmark alloy wheels (genuine LR with Pirelli Scorpion tyres)
Updated Disco 4 rear lights (genuine LR)
Updated Disco 4 style grill
Updated side grill
New window weatherstrip seals
The car has also had the following work done recently (within the last 6-7 months):
New front and rear discs (dimpled at front, Brembo at the rear)
New front and rear pads
Front lower wishbones replaced
Inner and outer track rod ends
Full alignment
New N/S/F driveshaft
New alternator and battery
New front to rear brake pipes
The car has been serviced at 18k, 32k, 55k, 70k, 87k, 104k (which was a cam belt service), 123k and most recently 142k (in March 18). MOT expires in December.
Standard equipment on the Metropolis includes:
Adaptive Xenon headlights with slow speed cornering lights
Heated Front + rear seats
Electrically adjustable front seats
Front + rear parking sensors
Panoramic sunroofs
Flip down DVD player with 3 sets of wireless headphones
Front AND Rear air conditioning
Heated front screen
Heavy duty Tow Bar
Bluetooth phone module
Centre console Fridge
Stainless side tubes
Factory privacy glass
Mirror caps, polished aluminium gear surround and cup holders
Harmon Kardon Logic 7 Audio system
Colour coded arches
Full black leather
Auto lights, auto wipers, power folding mirrors
The car has been remapped by BAS so it drives better than the standard car with a little more pull.
Overall condition is very good and the car drives really well. I had the body fully polished a few months ago and the new 20" alloys fitted along with the rear light upgrade. Looks great in Java Black with the factory dark tinted glass. The only bad bits are, some cracking on the paint on the arches (rear left lower mainly). I had a quote to do this and it was less than £100 but never got around to doing it.
Car can be seen in the Reading Area (Three Mile Cross to be precise) and viewing or inspections are welcome, just contact to arrange.
Price is £8250
** I CAN DROP THE PRICE IF SOLD WITH THE ORIGINAL ALLOYS TO £7500 (these are 19" with good Pirelli Tyres) **

I can confirm that this is a cracking car. Ben has done some very nice upgrades to what was already a very nice car
Although i only owned it for a few weeks i regretted selling it. I px'd it against a X5 that Ben was selling but it turned out that it just wasn't big enough so i ended up back in a D4 after a couple of months

Thanks Paul, hope selling the X5 wasn't too arduous ....I do miss the extra 100+ bhp but have to admit that the space and comfort of a Disco is definitely better. Moving house so buying something cheap and economical, temporarily of course

We've got 2 Discos and a Porsche Cayenne, all in the highest bracket. Paying monthly is the easiest option these days and I agree, in the scheme of things (like fuel cost, maintainance, insurance, etc), it's not hugely significant.
Saying that, this one will be replaced with something a bit more sensible, two 4x4s is plenty

Agreed, it's just one of those necessary evils, was just doing some budgeting. It does frustrate me that I am looking at a disco that will do probably 2k miles a year for 550 quid, have a 200SX in the garage that does 500 miles for 260, yet my mondeo estate that gets hammered around for 18k a year pays a princely sum of £30.
Rant over. For now.
