saggy seat covers
booked the d3 in for another replacement head unit (still intermitantly keeping hold of cd's). while i was there i mentioned what i thought was an unusally saggy cover on the drivers seat. i was then told that there was a TSB stating that both front seat covers should be replaced on customer complaint. mine is ebony cloth but not sure if it applies across the whole range.

I came across someone several month ago who has a business specialising in interior trim for cars. He said that he has busy with warranty work from Land Rover replacing cloth seat trim.

Land Rover GTR Technical Service Bulletin No.LA501-031 issued on 02 October 2006 refers.
Quote:
A customer may report a concern that the cloth cover of one or both of the front seats has become baggy and creased across the center portion towards the back of the seat cushion.
Cause: The seat cushion cover is secured to the cushion foam by two rows of securing rings on the first and second panels, but in order to accommodate the seat heater mat, none are installed at the rear of the cushion, which can lead to the above complaint. A revised cushion design incorporating a different seat heater mat (where installed) allows the cover to be secured to the cushion in the critical area.
Action: Should a customer express concern regarding the above, refer to the Service Procedure detailed in this bulletin to renew both front seat cushion covers.
"Should a customer express concern" is the key here, if you don't ask you won't get.

Great timimg. I was looking at mine today and decided to mention the baggy material when it next goes to the dealer. The side cushion also seems to have collapsed above the height adjuster lever. There is a sharp piece of plastic there which seems to cut into the seat cloth. I try to ease my rrse over it when getting in and out, just in case it's me that's the problem !2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Can anyone advise me about the VIN ranges for this TSB, as my car also is showing this problem although it is only 2 months old.
