Rusty wheel nuts, hesitation and vibration when braking
I noticed yellow patches next to each wheel nut, so I have removed and checked them all. All but one are extremely rusty, the washers especially, some of the caps are slightly swollen too but only the bottom part of the locking nuts are rusty.
It's booked in with the dealers in a fortnight for hesitation whilst accelerating from junctions so I will ask them to have a look at the wheel nuts as well.

We don't have locking wheel nuts in Oz, however I think the general consensus is to get rid of them before they cause you grief and won't come undone

One of the 1st things I did when I got mine, replaced with normal nuts....you'll be very unlucky to find a with a jack big enough to lift and steal your wheels
Your main issue will be your spare being stolen, and a costly replacement of the which cable, make sure you get yourself a spare wheel protector from RLDIggy/Ieuan

...rusty silly stupid soddin wheel nuts on D4's as well - wouldn't you have thought that LR would have latched on to the FACT that these are substandard for this classic vehicle
I wonder if ffrr & rrs (the new generation ones) have these or the bad design has been sorted ?
It's daft stupid things like this that dont fail on far cheaper cars.... & get LR a deserved bad name
You can see the point in re naming the Disco from a Disco 1, 2, 3 or 3 & a half (aka the Disco 4) so the models will be differentiated by Disco 2015 as opposed to having the legacy 3 or 4....
The parts that fail prematurely soil be the carry over feature that differentiates LR from different Marques.....which to me is not just ridiculous but preventable.
Rust really goes with D3.5 (aka Disco 4) "bling"........BREXIT - done properly.

Just had a call from the dealer,
New wheel nuts on order,
Hesitation when accelerating was caused by a sticking brake switch
Vibration was due to uneven front pads and warped brake discs.
should get the D4 back tomorrow.
I have been driving a D4 GS (MY14) and quite like it (apart from it being Black ), I've driven other cars fitted with stop/start technology and never like the system but on this car it's superb. 8 speed gearbox is superb, I drove a MY13 D4 last year and didn't like the gearbox - maybe that one had been thrashed as this one has only done 1500 miles. Must admit I'm getting used to the rotary dial for the automatic too - only thing I really miss is the keyless entry that my HSE has - keep trying to open it without using the remote

Good to see swollen nuts afflicts the posh wagons. Saw them on a new type RRS as well.
