Rustmaster
After a brief dalliance with madness (buying a Defender) I’ve decided to keep hold of the D4 a lot longer – so thought I would have the rust treated (4 years old now and planning to keep for some time)
So – after checking them out on this site – used Rustmaster in Knutsford (also have a place in Hatfield) – all I can say – what a fantastic job – really neat, well applied and great service (i.e. no waxoyl on plastic parts / wheels, spare removed etc. - compare to the horror stories on other services that advertise in LRO and are mentioned on this forum)
5 year warranty and annual inspections
If you are thinking along same lines– highly recommend

I had mine waxoyled by an Indi not far from Rustmaster's place in St Albans. Bad move, I should have got Rustmaster to do the job properly.

Yep, lots of bad press about them so knew to avoid.
This Indi took a week to do mine and it was a poor job. My dealer took me under the car to show me where he'd missed (not obvious without a ramp), plus waxoyled over mud so not cleaned off properly. It had to go back for half a day. I'm not naming & shaming because I accept things can go wrong and it did get sorted, however I should be recommending but no way that's going to happen. I've already had a coupe of PMs from peeps asking how good he was. Answer was simply don't bother.

Sadly not - but you can take my word for it.
All I need to do is put spare back under in a few days after wax fully hardened and I'm done!

Is getting this done an expensive job?
Might look at getting it done on my classic bus rather than the disco?
Is it a total underside treatment?
Apologies for all the questions!

£460 ex VAT
May sound a lot, but it's a horrible job to do yourself and they use a profesional Waxoyl - not the stuff you can buy in Halfords - check out their website for a better idea
I did a car a few years ago myself - took forever and the stuff went everywhere
Total underside and all cavities chassis box sections, doors, sills ect

Had new tyres fitted yesterday - Fitter commented how good it looked underneath - so again, if you are thinking of having it done, would recommend these guys
I used Rustmaster in Hatfield for my D3 in 2009 - still delighted with their workmanship.

Spooky - I had my MOT yesterday (pass ) and examiner wanted my permission to scrape the waxoyl off the chassis number plate - I'm going back to Rustmaster shortly for my annual inspection.
Still happy and would still recommend
