Running boards removal

Have purchased a 2006 HS and it came with running boards. I want to remove them as I think they spoil the shape of vehicle. I removed the bolts front and back, but they will not come off. Am I missing something, any tips.

Thanks

If you're talking about the side steps (tread panel), rather than the tubes, then they should be affixed to brackets front, mid and rear; the brackets being fixed to the cill.

Go to this LR site and download the fixing instructions.

Bear in mind, you'll be left with plastic cill trims with 3 not small holes in either side. Dealer price for the pair is IIRC £80 or so. Best to find another owner who wants them and do a swap.

Flytec , Lex gave good advice back there. You'll find that some of the bracket fixings are obscured by the plastic trim hence your conundrum.
