Not me though. I must be an official old g*t as I’d much rather have the FFRR.

You have to admit that does sound awesome, as good as big Diesel engines are they don’t sound like that. Mine growls but it doesn’t wail like a banshee.

It sounds absolutely amazing. However, I enjoy the muted engine note and general understated performance of the SDV8, certainly for every day use.

That’s because I’m an old g*t now though. Twenty years ago my everyday day drive was a 540bhp supercharged V8.

I’m still not really convinced by high performance SUV’s though. I’d rather have a saloon or estate or even a proper sports car and a big SUV with proper off road ability as well.

Whilst it’s amazing what the engineers at JLR have achieved by making such a heavy and tall vehicle handle so well, I’d still rather have a lighter and lower vehicle as a performance car.

Each to their own though. 👍

But if you can only have one vehicle on the drive, a mad SUV that goes well, sounds great, handles very well (even compared to many cars) and has the benefit of go anywhere ability (tyres notwithstanding), then the RRS SVR is for you. Thumbs Up

I agree, although in reality they'll be few SVR owners who can only fit one car on the drive. Laughing

One item to note about the ride in an RRS SVR (and I assume all L494 RRS) is that there is a “light load” and “normal load” setting. The “normal load” setting calls for 41 PSI on front tires and 50 PSI on rear tires. “Light load” calls for 37 PSI rear and 34 PSI front. When I took delivery of my SVR it had tire pressures of 58 PSI all around and was set on the “normal load” setting. It felt like driving on just wheels without tires. Once I droppped the setting and PSI down it was very comfortable. I don’t know how many people know about this or change their pressures but it’s a drastic difference. Still have my D3! Thumbs Up
