That's me ordered a pair of white LED lights. I'll see how I like the colour temperature and think about replacing the doors' puddle lamps.

I take it the puddle lights are in the doors on the Disco? i.e. you open the door and the light illumates the ground. Shame that they dont have them built into the door mirrors as that serves to illuminate the ground as you approach the car and not just as your stepping out of it. That's the one feature that I will miss when I ditch my Ford C-Max (Ghia) for my new Disco!

There are puddle lights in the wing mirrors on the D4 and FL2, but not the D3, in addition to puddle lights on the doors.
The D4 wing mirror lights are LED, the FL2's are filament of some description.
To go further off topic, I agree with others that the D4's wing mirror puddle lights are a missed opportunity for providing illumination for the wing mirror surround cameras.

the puddle lights are in the bottom of the doors so nicely illuminate your saturated shoes   XC90 T8 R Design Pro

DaveC: it might be an HSE thing, both the FL2 and D4 with wing mirror puddle lights were/are HSE.

The LEDs in the mirrors are great....they come on with the headlights when you plip for "get you home" lights and when you unlock and it's dark. They are really bright and very focused. I'd like to try and get some of these to swap for my puddle lights. They are probably not available without the whole mirror though!  2011 D4 Landmark, Mini Cooper SD Clubman, Range Rover Vogue SE

I've got the puddle lights in my XS, but maybe they came as part of the surround camera package? Not sure. They are marvellous though!

back to the subject regarding replacing the 501 bulbs for LEDs from the all mighty HIDS4U does anyone know how many bulbs exactly are required
Tailgate?
Puddle?
Interior?
etc.

Hang on a minute! What's all this about LED puddle lights in the door mirrors?
My HSE doesn't have them and there is no mention of them in the handbook (not that I can find anyway)!
Anyone got a picture of these lights?

Well I know a bit more about this now....if you have surround cameras then you get superbright LEDs in the bottom of the mirrors. All this talk of changing bulbs made me think about changing my door bottom puddle lights for these very bright LEDs. So I went to the stealer to look at the MicroCat and there were no LEDs shown, I got them to order a door mirror camera and it turns out the LED is part of camera module.
